Fresh lavender
The scent of lavender repels stink bugs.
In addition to creating an unpleasant smell, stink bugs can promote unsanitary conditions in and around your home. Many homeowners, particularly those with pets or children, prefer not to use commercial pesticides to help combat a stink bug problem, opting for nontoxic, environmentally friendly alternatives. Lavender has long been recognized as one of the most potent natural insect repellents. Preparing and placing lavender in and around your home can alleviate your stink bug problem, without the need for harsh chemicals.

Step 1
Fill small, canvas drawstring bags with sprigs of fresh lavender. Pull the drawstrings tight.
Step 2
Massage each bag gently between your fingers. Rubbing the bags releases essential oils from the lavender sprigs, enhancing their potency.
Step 3
Place pouches in common stink bug access points and problem areas around your home. These may include windowsills, under-sink cabinets and crawlspaces.
Step 4
Replace your lavender bags every 2 to 3 weeks, as needed.
