While moss may give your lawn or garden a decorative appeal, it can sometimes ruin the look of a yard. Moss continues to grow if you do not remove it, and it can take over a lawn. Moss tends to grow in wet, dark, acidic locations. When you notice moss growing in the lawn, you need to remove it properly or it will return. You can remove the moss with herbicides, but you may be spending money unnecessarily on harsh chemicals. The combination of liquid dish soap and water kill the moss by drying it, without emptying your wallet.

Step 1

Combine 2 tbsp. of liquid dish detergent with 1 quart of warm water. Pour the solution into a spray bottle.
